Change the world

Ok so we have personally had no cash and minimal means of contributing, but I am still a co leader of a Girl Scout troop and my co -leader and I asked if our troop would be willing to set aside a percentage of their cookie sales this year to send to Haiti... the girls said yes! They have agreed to send 5% of their sales to an organization, I am going to be researching today, and am hoping to find something that will make the biggest impact with what they are able to raise. In addition to this they will be collecting items for children in foster care to help make transitions easier. If you see a girl selling cookies, it's not just about the cookies, most of these girls are ready, willing and able to jump in and help out. Feel free to ask them what they are raising money for most have a larger societal goal not just who can sell the most Thin Mints... buy a box, ya never know what it could mean.

Should I monetize this page? If I do I promise to donate half of what I earn to one of the organizations found on this blog. Thoughts tell me what you think I will decide by Halloween...all souls day.

Just sharing, I set my new theme on Google to a charity called water, they are offering new themes for your homepage and some of them are charities , this particular one is to get clean drinking water into as many mouths as possible. So hey change your home page, change the world. I may be broke but I will keep trying to spread the word.
We will be donating lots of clothes this week to The Salvation Army, we have three kids and clothes that they have all out grown.
If anyone knows of a charity that can use some very young ,infant and young toddler books my kids will be clearing out their caches this week let me know. We are in the bay area of California so keep that in mind.
and do whatever you can it is free to recycle.

Well it has been a busy summer, school is back in session now and with that Ralph, our super provider will be able to help us finance our donations again. I just wanted to say something so that no one thought the project was dead, it's not we were just broke, can't save the world if you can't save yourself. We will start again next week and I will tell ya what we did this month to do our bit, tell us what you did we do want to know, we need each other to make things work.
